The Bike for the Boardwalk and the Ice Cream Run
Some vacations don’t need a motor. If your riding is the boardwalk, the beach access at the end of the street, and a café run or two, this is that bike. It’s the same easy cruiser you’d keep in a garage at home, except we carry it to your door and take it back when the week’s done.
Simple on Purpose: No battery, no display, no assist levels to learn. You pedal, it rolls, and the whole OBX is flat enough that pedaling is the easy kind.
Comfortable the Old Way: Upright seating and wide handlebars, the posture built for looking around rather than getting somewhere fast.
The Budget Path We Recommend Ourselves: At $20 a day, outfitting the whole house costs less than a single e-bike. When a caller only needs to reach the Duck boardwalk, this is the bike we tell them to get.
Everything Still Included: Free delivery and pickup to all 15 Outer Banks towns, with a helmet and lock in the deal. Same service as the $99 bikes.
One honest limit: these tires are made for pavement and boardwalk, not sand. OBX sand is coarse enough that standard bikes dig in and stop. if riding on the beach itself is on your list, that’s the fat-tire E-Beach Cruiser‘s job. And if you’re planning to cover real distance, Duck to Corolla and back before lunch, the $79 E-Road Bike earns its price.
Note: Bike colors and brands may vary.
FAQ
With Sweet Rides OBX, classic pedal cruisers are $20 a day and e-bikes run $79 to $119 a day, with 33% off e-bike rentals of 5 or more days. Every rental includes free delivery and pickup to all 15 OBX towns, plus a helmet and lock — there’s no delivery fee to add on top.
If your rides are a couple of flat miles or less — boardwalk, neighborhood streets, the nearest beach access — the $20 Classic Cruiser is honestly plenty, and the Outer Banks is flat. For town-to-town rides, summer headwinds, or riding on the sand, that’s when an e-bike earns its price.
Not really. OBX sand is coarse, and standard bike tires dig in and stall even near the water. Stick to the paved paths and boardwalks on this one — riding on the packed sand is what our 4-inch fat-tire E-Beach Cruiser is built for.
The Classic Cruiser is a 26-inch step-through that fits most adults, roughly 5’0″ to about 6’0″, with a quick-adjust seat — taller riders will feel snug and might prefer an e-bike.
