How it works
What Actually Happens, Start to Finish
Four steps, and you're only involved in the first one.

You book, or you call
Book online and the form takes your delivery address and your pickup address up front, so nothing needs sorting out later. Or call George at (252) 619-8329 and tell him your dates, your town, and how many of you there are. Same-day is often available. He'll tell you straight whether it works for that day.

We bring them to the house
We can deliver before you check in, so the bikes are waiting when you pull up and nobody spends the first morning of vacation running errands. Helmets, locks, and chargers come with them. We set each bike up and size it to whoever's riding it, and we'll stay for a first loop around the driveway if anyone's new to an e-bike.

You ride
We'll point you at the good access points, the paths worth riding in your town, and the tide timing for your week if you're on a fat-tire bike. If something goes wrong mid-week, call George. It's handled by phone and he makes it right.

You leave them, we collect them
Lock the bikes where we dropped them and go. You don't need to be home, and there's no shop to return anything to. If a different spot is easier, call and we'll get them from there instead. Done early? Call or text and we'll swing by sooner.

Nobody's home at delivery
We drop the bikes anyway. If we lock them, the combination gets texted to the phone number on your booking. Most people call one way or the other, and that's fine too.
You haven't checked in yet
Not a problem. We can have the bikes at the house before your check-in time so they're there when you arrive. Say so when you book.
Something breaks mid-week
Call George at (252) 619-8329. He sorts it out by phone and he makes it right. How fast depends on where he is that day, which is why we won't quote you a window we can't keep.
The forecast turns
Call us. When a storm washed out one group's rental day, we picked the bikes up and rebooked them for a sunny day later in their week. We'd rather move your dates than take your money for a rained-out afternoon.

That's a rider's own timing, not a promise we make. We don't quote a guaranteed window, because a changeover Saturday in Corolla is not a Tuesday in Nags Head. What we will do is tell you honestly on the phone whether your day works.
What it costs
Delivery Is Free, and It's Free Coming Back
Classic cruisers are $20 a day and e-bikes run $89 to $119, with 25% off e-bike rentals of 5 days or more. Delivery, pickup, a helmet, and a lock are in that price, and e-bikes add a charger and lights. Cancel any time up to 24 hours before your delivery for a full refund. Check dates.

Who delivers bikes to vacation rentals in the Outer Banks?
Sweet Rides OBX. We're a family-run bike and e-bike rental service that delivers to your rental door in all 15 Outer Banks towns, Carova to Hatteras Village, free both ways. We set the bikes up at the house, size them to each rider, and collect them when your week's done. Call George at (252) 619-8329.
Is delivery actually free? What's the catch?
It's free both ways, to all 15 Outer Banks towns, Corolla to Hatteras Village, with delivery, pickup, helmet, lock, and charger included in the daily rate. The catch is we want you back next summer.
Can you deliver the same day I call?
Often, yes. Same-day dispatch is available a lot of the time, but it depends on the day and where we already are, so we don't promise it in advance. Call George at (252) 619-8329 and he'll tell you straight whether it works for your day.
What if I'm not home when you deliver?
We leave the bikes anyway. If we lock them, we text the lock combination to the phone number on your booking. We can also deliver before you check in, so the bikes are at the house waiting when you arrive.
How does pickup work?
Lock the bikes where we delivered them and leave. You don't need to be home and there's nothing to return to a shop. If a different spot is easier, call George at (252) 619-8329 and we'll collect them from there. Finished early? Call or text and we'll come sooner.
