How it works

Delivery Is the Whole Point

No roof racks, no shop run, no standing at a counter on the first morning of your vacation.

  1. Book online or call George.

  2. We deliver, set up, and size each bike.

  3. Ride all week.

  4. Leave them where we dropped them.

We can have the bikes at the house before you check in, so they're waiting when you pull up. If you're not there when we arrive, we drop them anyway and text the lock combination to the number on file. Same-day is often available and worth a call to check. See how delivery works.

What Comes With Every Rental

In every rate

Free delivery and pickup to all 15 Outer Banks towns, a helmet, a lock, and setup at your door. Chargers and lights come with the e-bikes.

25% off e-bikes, 5 days or more

Applies to any e-bike rental of 5 days or longer, and it comes off when you book the dates.

E-Cargo add-ons

A passenger kit ($25, one-time) puts a child or an adult on a real seat behind you. A second battery ($50, one-time) roughly doubles the range.

Changed your mind

Cancel any time up to 24 hours before your delivery for a full refund. Inside that window, call us and we'd usually rather move your dates than cancel.

Hourly rentals

By phone at (252) 619-8329. A person answers 8am to 10pm and it's usually George.

Who can ride

Renters must be 18 or older. North Carolina law requires helmets for riders under 16, and helmets come with every rental for everyone.

Questions Riders Actually Ask

How much does it cost to rent a bike in the Outer Banks?

With Sweet Rides OBX, classic pedal cruisers are $20 a day and e-bikes run $89 to $119 a day, with 25% off e-bike rentals of 5 or more days. Every rental includes free delivery and pickup to all 15 OBX towns, plus a helmet and lock. There's no delivery fee to add on top.

Can you ride a bike on the beach in the Outer Banks?

Yes, on the right bike. Fat-tire e-bikes with 4-inch tires ride well on the packed sand near the waterline, especially around low tide, though some stretches restrict riding in peak summer hours and dunes are always off-limits. Our fat-tire E-Beach Cruiser and E-Cargo Bike are built for exactly this. The Classic Cruiser and E-Road Bike are not.

Do I need an e-bike, or is a regular cruiser enough?

If your rides are a couple of flat miles or less, the $20 Classic Cruiser is honestly plenty, and the Outer Banks is flat. For town-to-town rides, summer headwinds, or riding on the sand, that's when an e-bike earns its price.

How do delivery and pickup work?

We deliver to your rental anywhere in the Outer Banks, free, and often the same day you call. We can drop the bikes before you check in so they're waiting when you arrive, and if you're not there we text the lock combination to the number on file. When your rental's up, lock the bikes where we dropped them and we'll come get them. You don't need to be home.

Is delivery actually free? What's the catch?

It's free both ways, to all 15 Outer Banks towns, Corolla to Hatteras Village, with delivery, pickup, helmet, lock, and charger included in the daily rate. The catch is we want you back next summer.

What happens if it rains during my rental?

We work with you. When a storm washed out one group's rental day, we picked the bikes up and rebooked them for a sunny day later in their week. That's the standard we aim for. Call George at (252) 619-8329 and we'll figure it out.

One Call Outfits the Whole House
